My camera is full of little treasures my son insisted I take a photo of. 🥹 Trying to get anywhere with a child can be infuriating if you're on a tight schedule, but I know I'll miss his endless sense of wonder when he's grown too big to notice funny flowers.

Tickled to see one of my books in a lovely little used bookstore in a neighboring city. Lovely to think it was enjoyed by a family and will hopefully move on to a new home. 🥰

We've discovered Hot Wheels : Let's Race! on Netflix, and the kiddo is obsessed. I'm enjoying the diverse characters and positive messages, even if it is a glorified toy commercial. Also, always fun to see a redhead character in a TV show. 😄

We're recovering from the kiddo's minor surgery (thankful as always for our medical system, flawed as it is) and doing some (possibly haunted) crafts...Hope we're not accidentally summoning any dog demons...

Hey, look - that's MY (very long) name! Always a treat to pop into a school to talk up Summer Reading Club and spot one of my books on the shelf. 🥰

@stephcampisi.bsky.social look who I spotted at the library! Checked them both out. 🥳

Also - it's easy to forget how beautiful this province is. It really is beautiful British Columbia, especially on a sunny summer's day!

Happy Pride Month! So glad I live in a part of the world where rainbow flags are officially waved!

I think my child's hunger for Critter Club books has caused a spike in circ stats. 😉 A gentle reminder - kids can read whatever books they want, regardless of publisher marketing. Books have no gender. Books are for everyone.

Who says toys are just for kids? My son was very impressed by my "unusual build" - good thing I'm a writer and librarian, not a structural engineer...🤣

Could shoe companies please make grown up shoes that are this fun? I'd love a pair of these twinkle toes! I'd definitely earn some bonus points with the kids at work.

Monster Mutt reminds you to get outside today, if you can, and appreciate nature's little treasures.

My son's kindergarten class released the butterflies they've been carefully raising and studying. In case you too needed a brief emotional palate cleanser.

Another hold came in!! We can't get enough junior graphic novels and are rapidly burning through our local library's collection - anyone have any favourite series they'd recommend for a six year old?
April 29, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Cats and books - these are a few of my favourite things! 🎤

Independent Bookstore Day might be over, but don't stop shopping small! The Bookman in Chilliwack is one of my fave independent bookstores - plus, they help find homes for kitties in need! Check them out!!

We've experienced an absolutely horrific tragedy, and this is how the two major party leaders responded - one cancelled rallies and stood in silence at a vigil, and the other just keeps on campaigning. Please vote this man out of political existence.

I'm certainly not endorsing this large American company, but credit where credit is due - this is the Bath&Body Works store in my city, delaying their opening by several hours so staff can vote in the federal election. A very classy move - take note, other retailers!!

Was I getting teary in the library while reading this lovely little ode to literacy and the importance of caregivers in supporting early childhood development? What do you think? 🥹

"Sorry, nothing from New Brunswick" made me laugh far more than it probably should have. I don't think I've ever seen anything more Canadian. 🤣 Also, New Brunswick seemed very pleasant during the two days I spent driving through it. 😄

Time spent in nature is never wasted. So thankful to have access to such beautiful spaces. They're a balm for the weary soul.

Now *this* is my idea idea of camping 🤣

Taking photos of cherry blossoms, in the brief periods of sunshine we've been getting! We've had soooo much rain recently, every sunny moment is precious!!

We've been burning through graphic novels recently, and we loved BUNBUN & BONBON by @jesskeatingbooks.bsky.social - lots of zany, candy-coloured fun!
