And, just to help other authors, here's more details about the scam: they said my recently-published e-book had been shortlisted for a book of the month pick by NoNameBooks.com which IS a legitimate organization - but the person who emailed me is probably not part of it.

I did this yesterday. After being in PT since April, it was definitely a challenge. About half of it was walking, so don't take the pace too seriously. This was at the Star K Ranch in Aurora, Colorado (yes, *that* Aurora) - a gorgeous place for a race. #running

Finished my step challenge for August with 7 hours to spare! And what did I immediately do? Yes: signed up for another one in September. The problem is there is one less day next month, so I'm going to have to stay on top of my step count a little better this time.

Made it with 4 hours to spare! That was a lot of step the last two days...I'm cooked.

I logged a lot of steps today between my run, warm-up & cool-down walks, and just general walking around the house. Aiming for a Garmin badge of 300,000 steps in July, which means I have to do about the same tomorrow. If I'd kept my tracker on more often, I bet I'd see I've already reached 300K!

Ugh. Just got this email from Medicare with advice from a "doctor" who really should not be allowed to practice. This is worse than the social security email of a few weeks ago since this guy gives medical "advice" that is dangerous. Exactly what you'd expect from this administration, though.

Wow - lots of hail in Central Park!

I started mine today. Someone gave me this fancy notebook as a gift and I've never felt comfortable putting my own little words in it...but Jane Kenyon's (Let Evening Come) will do just fine.

...that were all started in NaNoWriMo plus 2 others novels and a novella in progress, hopefully to be finished one day. I plan to spend this November the same way, adding to my total word count (> a half million!) with another novel I've already started planning. Maybe some of you will join me?

My husband is at the grocery store and just texted me this photo - the most beautiful vegetable in the world: Romanesco Broccoli, a natural fractal.

Unofficial cover reveal - just received this beauty in my mail! This, reader, is what I've been working on all year. Will be posting more info soon! For now, I'm carefully checking the proof to be sure everything is okay.

Things might be going to sh*t and the temperature here might not have gotten above 10F, but I'm pleased to say I went out for a run and it was GREAT. A little bit of snow slowed me down a tad. Cold but sunny and it felt SO good. Can highly recommend if you want to improve your mood. #running

I've always had a personal rule to not run outside if the temperature is below 10 (F) or above 90...looks like I may have to get out there in a few minutes. 🥶

I hope this is not just the result of new-years-resolution-mania, but I'm going to try these dry-erase calendar planning sheets this year. I have 6 (six!) major projects going on and I'm thinking color-coding the target dates might keep me more sane. 🤞 #amwriting

My new website! Actually, it's the same one (in the interior pages) but it has a new landing page. #books #amwriting #scifi #sffh

First race of the year! We woke up to 14 degrees (F) and freezing fog, but it was so beautiful out along the South Platte River. I'm a slow runner, but this is actually a really good pace for me. Kept a lot warmer by continuing to move! #running

I shared this victory with my running peeps, but will share it with all of you too. I did a 5.5 mile run today, which brought me to my goal of 600 miles for the year. Back in February when I got covid I didn't think this would happen. Grateful to be able to breath again! #running

Bookmarking to read later. BTW, I clicked on the link in your bio to see your submission guidelines, and Firefox gave me a stern warning that the site was a security risk. Not sure why, but you might want to check into it!

Still #thankfullyreading this weekend. I'm about halfway through Alexander McCall-Smith's book "A Conspiracy of Friends." Next up is Martha Wells' "All Systems Red," the first in her Murderbot series. What are you reading this weekend?
