I feel like the Times profiting Nuzzi at the moment when we're learning about how far out of bounds the Time's Epstein reporter was, well, crap. I don't even know what to say. It feels collapse-y.

Besides that, activist isn't even an accusation of bias! Judges are not required to be passive. They take an active role in interpreting the facts and applying the law.

"ended up" takes away the clear blame, which is on the exploiter, not the exploited!

This is how rape culture is perpetuated.

It was in the mid-1980s and boy, did I have questions as a Unitarian Universalist kid with sensible parents.

(My great uncle's sister, my grandmother, was never Christian Science. 'Unc' joined because of his wife.)

I'm sure this was written before the US Conference of Catholic Bishops smacked the Trump Admin over immigration, but Chatty had already seen the Chicago priests and ministers getting very active and, well, the right will do what it can to try to pooh poo that!

That, and worried that 300 million guns are in private hands. I'm reminded while on vacation in Europe that many cops here don't even carry a sidearm.

I'm so removed from all that, can prosperity gospel people see doctors and get chemo, etc?

Cause otherwise it sounds like Christian Science (which, IMO, killed my great uncle, who needed a common bowel surgery but refused on religious grounds).

Is this Chatty's roundabout way of substituting Dems so as not to take on US Bishops? Because they're moralizing.

A damnable lie, probably in service to the private equity funded firms buying up single family housing to turn into rental fleets.

As I've said before, the Time's mea culpa about Judith Miller and the runup to Iraq was all just gaslighting. It worked to retain their rep and their subscribers, but it didn't change a thing about the totally wretched culture of the newsroom.

The issue as I see: it strains credulity to assume that NYT benched then fired a reporter for unethical conduct *relating to Epstein* but somehow failed to review that reporter's email correspondence with Epstein, where they would have found a trove of evidence linking Trump to Epstein

Still sitting here wondering why John Podesta emailing about a recipe was "news".

The standards for Trump are just so blatantly different.

Good to see Democrats on offense here, and tactically smart: Releasing these emails right as there was intense pressure, reportedly coming from the Situation Room in the WH, trying to flip one or more of the 4 R signers of the discharge petition.

Seems I was thinking too narrowly
So the Trump Admin is going into open political battle with Chicago Catholics?

These are not bright people.

Oh, Johnson isn't doing "I've never heard of this"? Because that's his answer about almost everything.
