Nothing like presenting at a conference in South Africa. Once outside you have an audience that may be a little different.

Sourdough, one with kalagand(like barki, but creamier) and the other with saag, chili chutney and fried egg. An abomination I know but some days you crave home and miss your mom.

As South African, we are always at pains to talk up the developed cities, but here I am on my usual commute, as always seeing the 'bokkies' at the Austen Roberts bird park.

It's the welcome to the new cohort of students at university of Pretoria (UP) aka Tuks. One of students happens to be mine, I am so proud of her and grateful that she chose the place that positively impacted me.

Okay, not only do I want read this, but I also want to meet Wen Xu and Adam Poole and learn their ways.

As this year comes to end, we are surrounded by sadness in parts of the world. The only way I can start the new year is not filled with joy but by believing in the resilience of all people and that we will succeed in moving forward to bring solace, peace and growth to all.

Having thought about this, briefly,it is a geo-political decision, and of interest as to who joined. I will look to far far more interesting question who was considered and left out. No to Nigeria? No to Indonesia? Just two that would have been a fascinating addition.
