C'est seulement si on demande "est-ce que si quelqu'un monte dans la machine c'est bon pour lui" et qu'on a l'intuition que non, que c'est un argument contre l'hédonisme axiologique (ici prudentiel). Non ?

Ok, I'm looking for "philosophy and weirdos" sky. Can we get the same debates that we have over there?

It would be nice to have a views counter here. For the people who are likes-starved.

Normal authors in their autobiography: "My first love was so innocent and pure, I remember how we kissed tenderly after watching the sunset..."
Reinaldo Arenas: "I fucked everything that crossed my path, even the trees."

I've been lurking in the Brazil Supercluster for a while and it looks like old Facebook, mostly made of people sharing their lives (interspersed with the occasional political or porn account). Seems this website has attracted a lot of mainstream people. I wonder if it's the same in other clusters?

The coolest point made by Ryder in his development of painism is that society should give end-of-life patients euphoria-inducing medication. The way most cultures treat dying people is obscene, it's like their suffering is the point.

Looks like Elon Musk has just realized that the racists are racist, and is having a mental breakdown as a result.

Every now and again, I stumble upon a normal person (usually on Bluesky rather than the other place) and I'm reminded of the fact that most people do not spend all their time thinking about AI risk, wild animal suffering, and shrimp welfare. Amazing.

If people talked about math the same way they talk about philosophy:
- Here is a theorem about prime numbers.
- This theorem is false because none of those numbers is divisible by 4.
- Well it's about prime numbers, which are only divisi...

This is crazy. What are we waiting for???
There is a human tissue that builds itself up and breaks itself down every 28 days (on average) using non-scarring wound healing and instead of studying that and learning everything we can about it we think it's gross and look for other less relevant models to understand wound healing.

Claiming that "great" literature cannot be compared to "popular" literature (or to, say, comic books or anime) is a form of snobism, and signals both ignorance and poor taste.

It’s incredible to me how many insults intended for men are still horribly misogynist.
