Today I made two calls to my senators and my representative. Two of the three calls were answered by staffers who sounded exhausted. I made a point to express my thanks, appreciation, and sympathy to them and their fellows staffers for their work and service on behalf of the country and its future.

The pull of gravity increases as you get closer to the gates of hell.
