This is my little senior lady, Myrrh. She’s 18, & it won’t be long before she wanders onto the Rainbow Bridge. So while she’s with me I’ve been trying to capture a nice photo of her. In typical cat fashion she’s been going out of her way to avoid being photographed. This is the best I’ve managed 😸

The Rs are more committed to fascism than the Ds are committed to the public interest.

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

Every single defecting Democrat Senator should be forced to take a cognitive test, seeing they failed to understand what was at stake, and whether they could trust Republican promises in the face of contradictory experiences and outright statements.

On Tuesday, Americans sent Democrats a resounding message.
“Fight for us”
“Fight for working class Americans”
“Fight against Trump’s corruption, criminality and cruelty”
5 days later, Democrat Senators sent Americans a resounding message.

Maybe this is a signal to future election criminals that they’ll be pardoned, too?

I had to read that twice. The Mad King demands his subjects be starved, even though resources exist to feed them. Got it.

At least they FINALLY admitted why they refused to negotiate on the shutdown. First they lied and promised Dems they would “negotiate” this, but only AFTER they voted for the CR. But Dems were correct when they assessed that Republicans NEVER intended to extend these subsidies.

The silence of congressional Republicans to all the Trump corruption - from his disgusting pardons, to the UAE crypto money, to the Qatari jet, and the ballroom, should be used against all of them in midterms along with their silence on tariffs which has made things unaffordable.

Democrats asked for ONE THING today to reopen the govt: Keep health insurance subsidies where they are at now for one year. That is IT. Nothing else.
Republicans said no.
So all the lies they tell every day about things Dems are asking for is BS.
Republicans OWN this shutdown.

Damage control if ever I heard it.
Dr Oz on the guy who collapsed in the Oval Office: "The president, God bless him, called the wife from the Oval Office giving her updates on how her husband was doing. When you actually know the man as a human being, not as a political actor, you have to love him."

There's an enormous opportunity for Dems to repeatedly talk about Trump appealing a Judge's order to feed vulnerable hungry Americans. He's not just passively refusing, he's aggressively seeking to starve Americans.

Just read this comment on the Bad Place about MAGAs defence of Trump’s actions. So accurate.
“Trump could shit in your mouths and you'd praise him for feeding the people.”

If the sub didn’t split, you must acquit!
Defense begins, “This case, ladies and gentlemen, is about a sandwich. A sandwich that according to Agent Lairmore somehow both exploded on his chest in a spray of mustard and onions but also landed intact on the ground still in its Subway wrapper.”

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.
