"but they got all the big calls right" 🤦‍♂️

Most Americans seem like an alien species to me. I feel I have far more in common with French, Dutch, German.... people.

But Alaska is so American!

I think Brits look at Americans' food habits the same way French, Spanish, Italians look at Brits. They have a far healthier and more enjoyable approach to food than us heathens!

I don't like Chinese (=Cantonese) takeaway food. But that looks like the real deal and you are welcome to cook a meal chez nous anyday!

Bush's "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" slur was a wake up call for me. Until then I'd never imagined the eating of cheese could be perceived as negative.

More fool them, they don't know what they are missing!

Fascinating. Classic transformation of data into information.

Although not as refined this, I've done similar detailed data analysis in a completely different field, and isn't it great that feeling when you discover an insight that no one else yet knows!

And the longer they keep the doors open for at each stop. I remember a miserable trans-pennine journey on a Pacer back in the 80's - it has mentally scarred me!

Lockdiwn was the inevitable consequence of the (non) decisions made before each one. They got it wrong time after time. Their financial/PPE mindsets could only imagine linear, not exponential growth, and couldn't conceptualise the lag from infection to hospitalisation.

I'm not sure it's actually true. I think there is a confusion with the payment that all ex-PMs get, of up to around £100k per year to "run an office". In practice they all seem to claim the maximum. Of course there will also be a generous pension when she chooses to claim it

Quite a leading statement. Surely if a trial collapses before convicting someone, they are not actually a criminal? Who's the arbiter who is saying they are a criminal in the absence of being convicted in a court? Worrying times.

I've asked my AI bot to summarise what my AI summary bots report!

Maybe followed with time, place and purpose it might make sense? But still a bit weird!
November 19, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Oh yes, continually. I'm old enough to remember when attaching the word "digital' meant a product was better. Remember "Web 2.0"? Or in the mid 90's I was being told "Neural Network" computing would replace my Engineers (it didn't").

AI has it's uses, but as usual the Marketing guys leap on it!

Last time I bought a cycle to work bike (6 years ago?) there was a financial limit. So unless they got rid of that limit this seems like no change?

I think (except the nut jobs), most people who voted Brexit now quietly understand it probably wasn't a good idea and wouldn't mind if we rejoined. As long as it's not rubbed in their faces.
