Truly the food cultures of the south are some of the very best this nation has to offer. Repressing language is repressing culture. When assimilation is the priority we are poorer as a people because of it.

As a white redneck in Mississippi, this didn't affect me, but knowing that it happened still leaves me with a sense of loss because you need only look at the food of the south to see what kind of amazing things can come from that rich diversity.

I am from South Mississippi. I grew up close enough to Louisiana to have a diverse set of cultures right at my finger tips. Cajun and Creole people suffered a lot of harm by government enforced efforts to have their unique versions of French wiped off the map in the name of assimilation.

And I'm sure those of us who know better, want better, try to do better, and vote better are better off without your empathy while living in an impoverished backwater with no upward mobility and no real ability to afford moving to a place full of more educated misanthropes like yourself.

Preferably by giving them the same kinds of rights citizens would have and not making them underpaid wage slaves that grow our food, pick up our trash, cut our grass, and build our houses.

Also maybe dems should stop defending immigrants by bragging about how exploitable they are. That's fucked.

Also I'm completely for open borders and it's something I wish more politicians were down for. People don't just leave their home cause "America shiny." Maybe stop destabilizing regions with war and regime change and then we can worry about the people who ACTUALLY want to be here.

When one party is willing to wield power while the other the other at best does incremental change, at worse does nothing, and even in that change it offers no tangible impact for a significant number of the people they represent, that is how a party fails.

Don't back the bus over queer people.

The blame for the democratic party's failure does not lay at the feet of queer people or democrat's proclivity to pay lip service to them when it's popular. The blame lies with the democratic party for failing to live up to it's alleged goals.

Democrats preach hope and change, and while they deliver on some of it, the ones they deliver it most to have been the wealthy.

By encouraging the democrats to further demonize Trans people to chase the moderate voter, you distract from the real problems that face this country and only create more.

The Great Recession pulled the rug out from under us. The Millennials never got to enjoy the economic prosperity that the previous generations spent the 80s and 90s promising them, Gen Z didn't even get promises of a better future, and Gen Alpha and younger has been insured a worse future.
