4/4 Anyway, this is what Scholarly Communication is to me. Scholars should get to share their weird little interests with the world and see what evolves from it, rather than worry about manufactured indicators of prestige such as citation metrics I order to keep their jobs. 2/3 And then I got to the bookplate and I gagged. Every letter is growing out of a leafhopper- this is marginalia at its finest. This man loved leafhoppers so much he designed a bookplate around them, or else he shared his love for them so effectively that another person designed it for him.
