That’s a great street!!! Flew over Venice today - the cloud over the Dolomites lifted as we got there! The Amalfi is sunny - but predictably chilly once the sun goes. View from the apartment…and the builders’ transport -!Have the best time

Isn’t it stunning!!! We stayed at the Austuria Ungaria - as the Excelsior was a little busy…but enjoyed “hanging around” the beach area! Staying with us - Noomi Rapace (which I found out on my return - as I didn’t recognise her!!!) Not long till you’re back!

What a lovely few minutes spent immersed in your nomadic life! I’m back from Italy & of course Venice - with the last few days on the Lido amongst the frenzied build up to the film festival. Just amazing! Italy was in equal measure noisy, vibrant & then just serene! But my garden has suffered 😩!

Doing our usual zig zag courtesy of Frecciarossa and Rv, across Italy!!! Could do with Siena being a little more accessible - had to revert to a 50 minute bus journey to avoid a 4 hour train trek!!!

Superb! I was back in “the gardens” about a month ago…fascinated the silence, the lack of tourists around S Pietro and by the huge arms/hands which could be seen within the Arsenale! Such a special place to visit and mooch around. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Oh dear - two weeks ago it was a little hit and miss - fog then brief amazing sunshine! Then back to cloud again! Found some quirky little galleries in La Latina -possibly even best described as bonkers. Loved it! x ps so warm I pulled my sleeves up and look like a builder drinking cava! Have fun!

Such a brilliant evening - great food! Great company - meeting Mindy and her husband - she came to Venice in January 1990 just as I left (mid December 89) - Mindy met a Venetian and married him! Strange parallels and sliding doors conversations!!! And a wonderful setting!

Will also take heed & wait a couple of years before visiting the Vasari corridor; thank you for including the wonderful translation around “original simplicity”! A weekend in December to Florence was delightful! An opportunity for a spontaneous Accademia visit to sit for 45 minutes with David!
