Once again having this experience - enjoyed the first book by this author, so ready to be done with the second and never return to her again.

To every restaurant everywhere: please have some way to indicate whether the single-user restroom is occupied. Otherwise I have to try the door and risk dying of embarrassment. Please and thank you.

Congrats to JayCee Cooper and to the team at Gender Justice, who argued her case at the Minnesota State Supreme Court last year!

Every once in the bluest of moons I wonder what life would be like if I lived in/moved back to my Ohio hometown. And then I see the 400+ comment war on FB over LGBTQ books in the public library.

Taking the wins where I can find 'em: My 16yo suggested we rewatch Shock Treatment and make the 18yo join us. She told him, "It's not GOOD - at all - but the soundtrack's full of bangers."

Credit where credit's due: I told the faculty member that I would come down to the lab and somehow managed not to add "and see what's on the slab." I see you shiver.

Beautiful Sunday morning walking the richie rich streets around the Hillwood Museum, regretting all my life choices.

We spent the weekend talking about class schedules, lunch options, and what to do if they are stopped or see a classmate stopped by ICE/NG.
As a new school year starts, Trump is terrifying the children of the District, thousands of whom rely on public transit to get to school and will now be greeted by a coterie of federal agents and armed soldiers who know nothing of their lives or their communities
For some in D.C., first day of school to look different under Trump crackdown

6:20pm: Large portion of DMV from NW DC to the north and west under Flash Flood Warning (green boxes). Remain at or move to higher ground and stay away from flooded roads. Turn around, don’t drown! #cwgalert

I wish I could ask him what appeals about certain beds. He didn't use this one for the longest time. He likes this spot better? Because it's out of the way? Help me help you, my love. @cats.bsky.social

Have to say, I did not anticipate enshittification turning up in sleep podcasts, but here we are. They're poorly done AI voices, and *in what universe* are these relaxing topics. It's amusing in a "kill me" sorta way.

I have a B.Phil. in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on sociology. You can laugh. 😉 It taught me to come at an issue from a variety of angles, to find and make connections. So, yes.
Serious question: If you got one, do you use your college degree?

"And you can't find your waitress with a Geiger counter / And she hates you and your friends and you just can't get served without her" A Tom Waits line seldom far from my mind these days.

For the second time this year, I'm trying to book a flight to Utah and why - seriously, why is it impossibly difficult? The options are inconvenient, expensive, or inconvenient AND expensive.
