April fools Day but the prank is that we all treat each other like we know that none of us are free until all of us are and then we keep doing it every day

Of course he would terminate this grant because:
1) It cares for the environment.
2) It cares for our communities (especially ones that need more help).
3) It isn't focused on making a profit.

What a shameful administration.
The Donald Trump administration has terminated a $75 million grant to the Arbor Day Foundation, a nonprofit that works to plant trees in communities that cannot afford them.

Definitely make sure to fill this out with only the most *legitimate* claims. It's verrrrryyyyy important that we don't disrupt the bureaucracy.
The US Department of Education has launched a portal to “report” diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at public schools.

BOOOOOO tomato tomato
This is a dangerous (and deeply embarrassing) moment for our country. Republicans just put a conspiracy theorist in charge of one of the most important federal agencies for safeguarding public health and guiding the nation through health crises.
RFK Jr. confirmed as Trump's health secretary, over Democrats' loud objections
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wins confirmation to be President Trump's secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The vote was 52 to 48.

Because of all of you who raised your voices and concerns, Trump backed down. Just because the decision has been reversed doesn’t mean the damage hasn’t been done or the threats to people is over. Let’s keep the energy up and make sure the American people are paying attention.

Good! Hopefully he's learning he can't get away with whatever he wants.
Donald Trump has rescinded the pause on all federal grants and loans following intense backlash.

They will lie, bullshit, and distract, so it's very important for all of us to say what we see with our own eyes. The fascist Co-President threw a defiant Nazi salute on inauguraton day.

Vaccines work. Incredibly proud of all the scientists and the literal centuries of work it takes to solve public health crises and save millions of lives.
A new study found a 62% reduction in cervical cancer deaths among women under 25 in the U.S.

Dr. Ashish Deshmukh joins us to discuss the study and why the HPV vaccine, introduced nearly 20 years ago, is likely behind this decline.
As Cervical Cancer Deaths Plummet, Experts Credit HPV Vaccine
HPV can cause a variety of cancers, including cervical. New mortality data for women under 25 show the success of the HPV vaccine.

Just one from a never-ending list of reasons why the justice system in the US sucks. No one, regardless of status, should be immune to consequences.
Breaking news: Donald Trump could have been convicted for seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election had he not won the 2024 election, the US justice department said www.ft.com/content/c381...

A justice system where your positionality and privilege determines your consequences is no justice system at all.
Donald Trump’s sentencing has amounted to an unconditional discharge (no punishment) for his hush money case.

Radical acceptance/delusion maybe but watching humans take care of each other through this gives me a lot of hope for the future. Even in the microcosm/my personal experience: the past 48 hours, literally all of my friends and loved ones have checked on me. Institutions may fail us, but we won’t.

America is a failure.
Stay home tomorrow. Mourn with your family and friends for the nearly certain rough times ahead. Understand our nation must face this moment which came to be through the failures of our past leaders. Know we must reorganize and reinvent ourselves, and reinvigorate our democracy. We are not done.
