Don’t look for heroes or heroines in history. Most people in the past won’t live up to our ideals. Look for complex individuals who did some admirable things and may have done some atrocious things, and study them for who they were within their own time.

I’ve never been a strong writer. Perhaps my writing would benefit from AI, but I’ve no desire to outsource what feels like a very human process to the machine.
Is anyone else just *not interested* in using AI for their writing? All accuracy and morality aside, I just don't want to. I want every last word I put on a page to have flowed out from my own body. Maybe I'm romanticizing it, but I just can't see it any other way.
