Hello there. First day on BlueSky - I'm over on the same handle on X. You will mainly get pro-choice and UK politics content, with a heavy sprinkling of photos from Scotland. Starting you off gently, here's a sunset across the Lewis moors (that I got from a layby by a pizza van). 🌅🚙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It’s absolutely shameful and shocking to see high profile women calling themselves feminists, writing screeds about how women who have late term abortions will “kill babies” and that decriminalisation “denies the interests of the baby”.

Calling decriminalisation a “lib fem” issue ffs.

Some days you get a letter you have to read twice to fully believe. The letter from TfL saying our ads had been turned down because they might hurt the police's feelings was one of those. 🚨 Our abortion law hurts a lot more than feelings - that's why we're fighting to change it.
This ad isn't real. We mocked it up. Why? Transport for London rejected our campaign material because the advertisement "𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚".

Nikki Packer is a brave and brilliant woman who has been through absolute hell.

This is her story; it’s not one she ever wanted to be telling, but she hopes that by doing so, no other woman will have to go through what she did:

For 6 years the police and CPS have pursued this woman alleging she ended her own pregnancy.

Now we know there was no evidence she did anything other than panic when she found out she was pregnant, ordered pills she never took, then had a traumatic stillbirth at home.

The law needs to change.
NEW: A British woman was sentenced to an 18-month community order for conspiring with her partner to buy abortion pills to end her pregnancy when she was a teenager.

My report from today's hearing at Gloucester Crown Court:

The weather cleared up for a brief and glorious stretch in western Lewis today. This is from the B8011 outside Enaclete looking down towards the Harris hills in the distance. Lasted all of about 20 mins - the joys of December.
