Back on my bullshit again (going to try and recreate the Practical Magic house inside godot), starting with an export from sweet home 3d which may turn out to be somewhat unhelpful?

He is LOCKED IN (sorry buddy but you cannot eat the tiny birdy)

Decided to mess around today and do a quick test model with plasticity, honestly it's super neat? Or at least I find it much faster than doing the same thing directly in blender. (Reference image from www.brooklynmuseum.org/objects/2290)

Had a little scare with the cats (they gnawed off and ate chunks of corn cob who even does that??), but one vet visit later it turns out they should be OK, no blockage or anything, probably just an inflamed throat. Silly kitties!

Made some of the worst art you've ever seen for this little spaceship game prototype, now it's time to design a little builder thingy in-game. I'm sure the physics situation won't be difficult at all and it'll all just work out of the box with minimal effort! 👀

Virtual solar 42-esque drone machine: working - minus some annoying buffer underrun problems. Intend to treat it like an "instrument" for sound design purposes in any case so it should be fine. Did a quick little ambient improv just to play around with the thing, turned out OK I think?

The Synthesizer Must Grow. (finding out about feedback loops in reaper containers was probably a terrible mistake on my part whoops)

They want to wrestle but it's so hot they're just laying on the ground like this without moving instead 😭

Harvested most of the rest of the cabbages, incredible year for cole crops so far!

Also finally got the new hardware arranged (and the gain structure fixed, wheee). First time buying gear in like 7 years, never doing *that* again LOL. Pleased with how the drawer for the osmose turned out tho, terrible carpentry skills came thru again! (Cat for scale)

Got annoyed that there wasn't any such thing as a waterfall key midi controller with 88 keys so I kind of made one? (Not perfect but hey it does palm slides now!)

Did another Foundation run, still some frustrating stuff in it but the building/etc. areas implementation is just so very neat!

Like come on now! But overall, like a lot of people have said, the xbox 360-esque graphics absolutely hit the sweet spot for me

Don't mind me just bopping around in Midnight Suns yoinking ideas for my future little-guys-living-in-a-mansion-with-a-library game. (I really think I liked exploring the abbey as much as I did playing the main game?)

Have been wanting a ribbon mic for a while but couldn't justify one of the $$$ ones. Instead: modded a MXL R40 with a Lundahl LL2915 (and tensioned the ribbon, didn't break it thankfully!). Very happy with the results - less happy with my trumpet tone right now but that's a whole other subject ;)

Related to BG3, thinking a lot about this chart lately and how the lower-right is by far the hardest to balance (and how classic roguelikes end-run a lot of the problems by taking out a HUGE variable, since players can't reload and each run starts with exactly the same conditions.)

Today in WTF is this thing in the parts box, what was I even DOING 10 years ago

WAY too many hours later: success! Software even mostly works too. Bite sensor is almost perfect, lever doesn't have as much range as I wanted but is still usable (Probably overcooked on the opamp, should be an easy fix tho). Now I'll have to find a different way to procrastinate working on music ;)

Upgrades for my weird DIY midi wind controller got really out of hand as usual but I think it's finally ready to put together. New pitchbend, thumbstick for XY grid control, new mouthpiece (hopefully more precise than the last mess!)

Gaming status: planning out Satisfactory megabuild disaster. I'm hoping this will be a fun way to stretch some creative muscles and not just be a massive waste of time but we shall see!
