i love to spend several minutes with my human hands drawing hundreds of little lines, which i then get bored of lining up correctly. truly the most natural and consistent way to draw fishnets, as someone with the technical skill to skip the sketch phase and go straight for crosshatched lineart

to be clear, i dont think using genai to clout chase is Evil. i just think it is cringe

if you uncritically trace genai and copy over all the mistakes genai made without fixing them, that was still a decision you made, and i can still think its cringe

i really love art as a medium and not exclusively as a vehicle to enjoy fictional characters, so i think its very strange for people who enjoy art as a vehicle to complain that people who love art as a medium complain too much

like. they fucking. lined and colored rhe floating ribbon. that is several times the artist saw the floating ribbon and decided it was fine if it wasnt connected

this is not a mistake i have ever heard about until genai became a thing

& if you cant even be arsed to fix the things genai struggles with and leave them in, like the floating ribbon, still a skill issue worth critiquing

imo using ai to post the artist equivalent of a content mill is still deceptive. posing, proportions, composition can be the hardest part of drawing & youre just hacking it off to save time
