When I came into the kitchen the pot was glowing slightly, so I turned off the burner and lifted it off. As I moved it towards the sink, the bottom fell off and splashed liquid metal around. I'm lucky I wasn't hit.
Lesson learned: if your crockery is glowing, DO NOT PICK IT UP. Let it cool in place.

I for one do not regret watching it on YouTube with *terrible* auto generated captions burned in.

Not sure if I can make it myself, but I hope this gets a lot of traction.

Just reported Tim Hortons to the city again, because nothing happened since I reported this violation a year or so ago.
Apparently lefty inclusive New Westminster @newwestminster.bsky.social doesn't care THAT much if people have a place to shit.

I hate how I can't stop myself from reading the comments on these bullshit posts. 99% are idiots guessing nonsense (assuming they're even real).
"Distilled water doesn't freeze"
"Distilled water has more heavy metals"
"Distilled water has a higher freezing point" (huh? How would that explain it)

Literally five minutes after reading this I scrolled through the Costco sales for this week...

This shit blows my mind.
Hardly a week goes by that I don't use Pythagoras, often even proper trigonometry. And that's not in some sort of theoretical physics research, but totally mundane stuff.
I understand it won't be weekly for everyone, but never?!

In my lab we use a type of high voltage supply that uses Ma to mean mA. Unlikely to cause any true confusion, but baffles me every time. You clearly had access to both upper and lower case letters!

"The Moon Seems to Change" is a pretty good kids book explaining Moon phases, but:
1. I realize this book didn't come up with the terminology, but calling the obvious half moons "quarter" annoys me immensely.
2. How dare you omit "gibbous"?! Everyone knows gibbous is the best phase!

Even accepting that it's necessary to write out this table twice, I would have thought that despite rounding errors at least ONE of the lines had a correct factor two just by chance.
