The download option appears for me on the programme page (left pic); when I tap on "Listen now" there, it switches to the play page (right pic). Tapping the Play button on that starts playing, and then the bottom bar appears (not shown, but as my earlier pics). Could you post screenshots?

The BBC has changed the format of the Sounds web-player to be more like the Sounds app: instead of always showing the player controls, they are hidden until you click on the bar at the bottom (left pic) which brings them up (right pic)

It used to work, but now flashes up the results screen then goes to accounts or something (the search is for a Mixcloud show listen-along on Wednesday evenings). I don't know how to edit this to be shorter, sorry!

You can pause and rewind the live Radio 4 feed in the BBC app, and on bbc .com

A tip for UK ex-pats whose BBC Sounds app has shut down: if your appstore account is still set to UK, and you can still see the Sounds app in it, try deleting and reinstalling the Sounds app, might get it going again for a few weeks; if that works, repeat as necessary...

Do you mean the Continue Listening list? You can delete items from that in the app by tapping Manage List, then tapping the pencil icon top right and then X to delete

You can listen live to Radio 3 on the bbc .com website: choose AudioFAQs from the pull-down menu (left pic), then scroll down to the station list (right pic) and tap the link for Radio 3 to open the web-player; you might have to uninstall the Sounds app for the link to work

To listen live to Radio 1, 2, 3 etc in the BBC app, tap Audio at the bottom of the screen (left pic), then tap AudioFAQs at the top of the screen and scroll down to the list of station links (right pic) and tap a link to open the player (which is the Sounds web player!)

They are: In the app, tap Audio at the bottom of the screen (left pic), then tap AudioFAQs at the top of the screen and scroll down to the list of station links (right pic)

I've managed to side-load the app on my Android tablet. If you tap 'more' at the bottom-right corner, it brings up a menu screen with a search bar at the top, so try The Archers in that. Also if you scroll down the menu, you'll see Audio FAQs, tap that for the info page with the station links

Update: the BBC is delaying the withdrawal of Sounds for international listeners, until plans are in place to ensure continued availability of its radio stations by other means; see the fourth question in the FAQ page, text also in pic/alt-text

The #stereounderground quiz question about the Banshees reminds me, a gig non-story, if you will: I was supposed to see them on that tour, September 1979, but a delayed start on a school night meant my mate & I had to give up and go home :( Pic shows my diary entry; they split-up within days

The 'News' stream on Sounds is on the top dial between World Service and Scotland, but only available in the UK I believe - as indeed are 1Anthems and 3Unwind, unless things have changed recently; see pics

Whenever I visit the Sounds website (I'm in the UK), I get a pop-up to open the app instead (I already have it installed so maybe that is detected)
