Wrapped up #DnD Lost Mines of Phandelver with the party tonight. We didn't want to continue without our fallen member, @sffcorgi.bsky.social, so we narrated it like a story with occasional dice rolls. Everyone in the party received a special homebrew item, so our friend is always with us.

I hope everyone going to #PAXU has a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to the year I work things out and can attend again, either solo or with a friend.

Yesterday's weather was gorgeous, so we got out for a quick 9 holes of disc golf. I got a birdie on a hole I absolutely hate (tunnel shot down a steep hill) and was happy to see several young families out playing together.

I found my missing cobalt blue fountain pen ink. Once I finish with this filling of raven black, I want to experiment and see if I can mix blue and red in the cartridge to make purple.

Reminder to self - research how far from Philadelphia you need to get to be served bell peppers in your cheesesteak.

I have several bottles of fountain pen ink. Of course I cannot find the -one specific color- that I want to put in my pen. Why do I keep looking in that desk drawer, hoping it'll appear?

The loom has been threaded and sitting unused for too long. I cut up some bedsheets in coordinating colors and got to weaving.

The weather is doing odd things to the local plants. Our lilac has a tiny blossom and the honeysuckle on the walking trail have a few blooms. It's odd to smell fresh flowers instead of the crunchy leaves of autumn.

Today I'm feeling very prickly and everything / everyone is WRONG. Any ideas on how to snap out of it?

Played disc golf this weekend in central NY at a course within a large off-leash dog park. Fortunately the weather was damp and there were not a lot of dogs at the park. One dog considered stealing our discs, but he listened to his owner. Is there a more incompatible dual use for park space?

The recipe says it'll take 40 minutes to make, but it assumes the corn is shucked and removed from the cob and the bacon and shallots are nicely cut into proper shapes. Start any dinner at least 2 hours before you want to eat, just to be safe.

Watching Game Changer gave me an excuse to spend time on my crochet project.

When I wake up and hear @bradkleinnews.bsky.social say that the weather will be perfect, that is my cue to finally wash and dry my handwoven rag rugs.

This article describes how I feel about disc golf. I started with generic frisbees until I learned there were actual discs for the sport. My first discs were pre-flight number Innovas. I have yet to throw over 200 feet. Still, I play almost weekly for exercise and relaxation.

I have watched Game Changer and can now re-engage with social media. This is going to produce an interesting data set.

I'm taking my novice #dnd group through a dungeon crawl. What advice do you have for me? What could make it fun / memorable for them?

My brain is so confused. While everyone around me is celebrating Independence Day, my husband is cooking two turkeys for the family's Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday. Since COVID, we take it outside in the summer rather than having 40 relatives infesting my MIL's home in November.

A conversation about Rogue-like games gave me the urge to find an emulator and play Rogue. I found this scroll entertaining. What do you think it does?

Going to make this a good Monday - clean sheets, freshly baked bread, and trying a new recipe for supper.

The rain stopped and the sun came out. We played disc golf and blamed every poor shot on the wind.

Cereal - Do you more often eat it with a spoon for a meal or with your fingers as a snack?
This question is brought to you by my afternoon spent munching on Berry Berry Kix.

Does anyone else remember the computer program ELIZA? How different is today's "AI"? Is it just more powerful computers and larger data sets?

My favorite part of this article is the picture they chose to accompany it.

Got into an elevator yesterday to find a tiny plastic Jesus sitting on the handrail. I gave Him a respectful nod and thought,”He has risen indeed.” Unfortunately the elevator only goes up 4 floors.

The loom is ready. Does anyone need a small rag rug?
