Agreed. As long as they're able to do interesting things, I'm always down for a work getting multiple adaptations, esp. in different mediums.

-which I think makes the very process of their creation have a tangible connection to the story, whereas with live-action, it's one step removed from that connection due to the medium. So I'm curious to see how that loss can be bridged (or whether that's even attempted) with the adaptation we'll get

Yeah, I do think it's one of the more suitable manga for a live-action adaptation, and definitely has potential to be very good.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that live-action is at odds with Look Back's themes or anything, but both anime and manga have drawings as their core-

It does make me wonder about some stuff (isn't the hand-drawn part kind of intrinsic to the work?/is making live-action adaptations of "cinematic" manga as good of an idea as people tend to say it is?/I hope Oshiyama's work isn't overshadowed strongly), but I am very curious to see how it'll go.

They probably could still go for a similar approach without Saitou directly getting involved, especially with Yoshioka returning to the production, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I think the minimalist approach to colors and composition worked really well. While many cuts were basked in specific colors, they were done so in a very tasteful manner, and in a way that communicates emotion.

And I really like the hazy blue that they used for the skies.
