"Angelmaker," by Nick Harkaway, read to me like "what if Terry Pratchett wrote an action-adventure thriller."
It's a lot of fun, with concepts that feel simultaneously gonzo and resonant, and a Pratchett-esque cast of unlikely but very likeable characters.
