(Many boards have technical authority impossible to wield w/o active staff & also no council oversight outside of bulk appropriations. How to best address issues when neither boards nor council can effectively make policy is a long standing issue throughout metro, & imo a charter flaw.)

I think you’re assuming the board has been given a decision to make. As of now, a meeting hasn’t been called and it requires staff to act to call it.

I think there are lots of ways to push on the issue publicly, for sure. I’m looking more for the specific legal levers within the two different governing bodies.

Your trip looked amazing. And also I’m glad to have you back.

This is exactly the sort of thing I’m asking for.

I agree re perception. But also looking for data on the crime stats given numbers I’ve been given re cost.

Let me know if you’re missing any. I requested and was sent all of them today and can post if not there.

I was lucky to graduate law school when loans could be rolled up into one market rate loan (then 1.875% for a 25 year term).

I was lucky to have a $300 a month apartment.

I was lucky to have in-state, $2500 a semester tuition.

I cannot imagine wanting to prevent others from such luck.

Right?! I spent SEVEN years in Tuscaloosa in the pre-smartphone years. I always knew what was happening on game days. It was communicated. It was clear.

It was a town of 50k people that grew multiples half a dozen days a year. It can be done!

Agreed! For years, Bob Seger held out on streaming. During that time, I dutifully held onto his greatest hits CD to play in my car.
