They die. Every year people DIE in their cars and tents from hypothermia but the public/media devalues their lives because they are unhoused.

Pre communist China had a 10% death rate every winter. Most peasants did not have a set of good winter clothes. Mao was evil, but getting everyone two sets of clothing a year saved many lives.

We didn’t have central AC in Florida. Just one unit in parent’s bedroom. I still open and close curtains throughout the day to adjust temp.
