yeah, it’s not like the workers are getting a cut of the revenue to see a difference either way

they just have to do a lot more returns, which sucks, but so does lots of stuff daily in retail

the slice-of-life stuff that should be filing out each series if they were made to be 22-26 episodes and hit syndication doesn’t exist except in people’s imaginations, and the fanfics “fixing” this shortcoming must be very rewarding

BUT if you’re 13 years old, “Prodigy” is as good as any Star Trek has ever been, and if you’re a 17-year-old watching “Discovery”, it’s got to be like “Voyager” where you’re so FRUSTRATED at how it has so much promise but falls short

yes, it’s Star Trek. of course it’s awful. we have fanfiction because of how much Star Trek sucks and has to be fixed by you to be any good

the cool thing about approaching things with a child’s eyes is you get to go “hell yeah, this is awesome” without any baggage of the stuff about it that sucks

and the hard work of adulthood is enjoying things you enjoy without over intellectualizing how stuff that sucks is “good, actually”
