I have a horrible vision for an apartment where everyone can simultaneously be upstairs and downstairs neighbours, perpetuating the cycle of violence:
A cube made up of four overlapping conceptual apartments with a downstairs that leads to the upstairs of the same apartment unit that rests overtop of the neighbour's downstairs. Each overlaps over another neighbour, forming a cube-shaped apartment complex where each of the four units are made up of an upstairs and a downstairs.

Reminds me of the time my parents’ dog Summer (left) met her doppelgänger!

I hit a JoJo pose post workout today!

I also know very little about JoJo so forgive my alt text 🤣
I’m told this is JoJo and Caesar, one of them is laying down with his legs crossed facing away but looking over his shoulder as he leans on his elbow. His pinky is out and his index finger is curled inward. The other guy has one arm bent upward and the other behind it bent downward with both hands open. As is JoJo character tradition, they’re both unreasonably buff. Me on a workout bench trying to mimic the guy laying down. I’ve mostly captured the pose, I’m just not unreasonably buff yet. The photo is taken at an angle because I propped my camera up on my workout bike in the bottle holder.

Got two new pairs of glasses!
Self portrait with my new rounded copper colour frames that are very slightly flat on the top. I'm quirking one eyebrow up. Me again, this time in day to day square metal frame glasses Me in my old pair of glasses. they're black plastic frames and look a little too big for my face.

Needed an excuse to excessively use my new stamps so I made this title card (page?) for the story I wrote :)

It’s always difficult to talk about these things but since I’ve shared pics before I figured I should mention it: my parents’ dog (also my first dog) Summer passed away last week. She just turned 14 last month, and we got to know her for 12 of those years 💛

Tomatoes and basil from my garden :3

Finally remembered to take some garden harvest pictures 😂

First harvest of Rapunzel tomatoes, plenty more still ripening before the season’s over. The squash were incredible this year and we’ve still got some butternut waiting to ripen on the vine.
Two 4 litre ice cream pails of cherry tomatoes still attached to the plant stems. They’re varying ripeness from green to red. Three pumpkins and two acorn squash in a sink, slightly wet from rinsing the dirt off.

Gay (derogatory) salad & toasted sandwiches

Just in the last two weeks I have learned how to enjoy cucumbers for the first time: salted and peppered on both sides. Goes really well in both!

"Why would she risk such a dangerous profession? Can’t someone else do it?" Not really! Only a hundred-ish people in her village. Most are war veterans and injured. The few people they can spare are done so when only absolutely necessary. Unfortunately it’s absolutely necessary. The village has no metalworkers, no resources besides just enough food, wood, and fibre, and humans are encroaching on their territory. It’s an all-around bad time for Runnicka’s village. Fortunately she’s eager to learn to be a ranger! "So is it just her, or…?" There’s dozens of characters throughout the story! Here’s some key ones: Raekisho Feio* – the mentor that’s training her to become a ranger. *Feio is a title, means ‘community and religious leader, teacher, elder, etc.’ Xaerena – her best friend, a hunter, supports Runnicka and keeps her humble lol. Rio – just a guy with the saddest tale. Never been free, never thought about who he could become, never eaten dwarven food. Japhide – a hermit in a cursed forest, he’s a human with a very specific set of skills (he’s just kinda done a bit of everything). "What else you got?" A long journey! A horse companion! 92,000 words (got dang). Fight scenes! Just a lil bit of smut! In-universe songs! New fantasy races! Tender moments! Food! (also there’s actual recipes I made for this story feel free to ask for them.) Culture shock! Necromancy! (‘wait wut?!’ no more questions!) And more!

Fuck it! The epilogue for The Quiet Forest comes out this Sunday, and I haven't really shared much about this story, so how about a comic sans powerpoint to introduce you to the world???

Title slide. The Quiet Forest. the longest WIP of my life. (in time i've spent with it not word length. seriously i started this 14 years ago (sometimes that’s just how it goes)). The moodboard beside the text has a bloody knife, a white feather, a burning candle, a stack of burlap sacks, a white bark tree, and an orange flame. "14 YEARS?!?!" Yes! 14 years! Let’s not think about that too hard. :) This story came together with many of the things in fantasy I love: scarce (to the protag) magic, second world, classic fantasy races (elves, dwarves, etc.). (Let’s also not focus on the fact that I originally created the OC when I was 9, although the art I found of her from then is pretty cute). "Okay. But what’s it even about?" I’m so glad you asked! A cult is murdering community leaders, and it compels one furious elf to take action. It’s about accepting yourself, vengeance, and protecting your last pieces of home when the world is determined to rip it away from you. "Who is the 'one furious elf'?" Runnicka! She lives out in the middle of nowhere in terms of elven civilization. Learning to become a ranger to protect her home. Protect it from what I hear you ask: humans. They’re encroaching on elven territory despite what peace treaties say, cutting down their forests and destroying local ecosystems. That’s not the worst of it. Some also hunt for elves to enslave them. Their unfathomable longevity (to humans) makes them the best candidate for slavery since they age so slowly. Runnicka just wants to keep the hundred or so people left in her village safe and protect the critically endangered species around the forest she lives in. You can imagine why a cult showing up would make her furious. Beside the text is a digital painting. Runnicka, and elf, looking straight at the viewer holding her hand in a peace sign while also looking sassy & grumpy. Her hair is in one braid which is swinging upward on one side of her head. Behind her is the forest canopy framing her face. The art style has flexible lines and even a gentle curve to straight lines. There is light shading added throughout, including a shine to her hair. Called the ‘Ralimaul’ (literally have ‘maul’ in the name). Worship the Goddess of Silencing. If they’re not out to recruit you, they’re out to kill you (and they’re quite good at both). The cult’s been around a long time, but the story follows Runnicka’s first encounter with them. "How does all the other stuff come into play?" Runnicka’s village is cut off completely from the other elven cities. Hence the reason why rangers are so necessary. But as mentioned, lone elves get caught. Did I forget to mention that mage elves are seen as too dangerous if captured and immediately executed? Oh yeah, Runnicka’s a mage elf by the way. Just fire magic, but fire’s awfully effective against most things. Also tends to be dangerous.
