unless something’s changed in the last few years since i worked there, that’s only going to be applicable to the single-title (and probably single-author as well) tables. the genre or theme/category tables were always filled and refilled by booksellers in the store, without a specific list!

the genre comes from often deeply unserious roots that nonetheless have a sturdy “woke” core that lets them still feel genuine, and imo modern superhero movies just can’t sustain themselves in the gritty greyscale corner they painted themselves into. i’m glad to hear they’re finally leaning back in!
