57. Inside Out

Such a fun concept!
Recognised Ashley Johnson immediately lol
I loved the way the movie built up to Sadness' big moment.
I feel like if you go too far into this world's concept of the brain, it will fall apart quickly. So I won't
Looking forward to part 2!

56. The Shape of Water

It looked amazing and I loved Elisa. It was cool to have a mute protagonist.
The fish man was amazingly done and I liked their communication.
The exhilaration to see yourself in something others see as irredeemable and seeing only good things.

Replayed it with friends and actually finished the true ending this time.
Beating the Radiance felt good :)

Overall for X-Files, I really enjoyed watching the show and I adore Mulder and Scully.
BUT I will still call it the worst good show I've ever seen..
My main problem is that it's impossible to engage with the main characters' relationship without considering the unwilling hand of the creator...

54. X-Files S11

I actually really liked this one!
Last season finale was reduced to a vision.
Very nice relationship development, especially E3.
Liked most of the William stuff until the very end.
Disagree with how Mulder and Scully handled the last situation...

53. X-Files S10

It was... mostly good.
I liked the first episode and the next 4, but the last one was probably the worst one in the whole show.
2 very good comedic episodes.
At this point I don't really care about consistency anymore lmao

52. X-Files: I Want To Believe

I really liked this movie!
It was a long MotW episode and I enjoyed it a lot.
They acknowledged and addressed the relationship!
The case was very cool.

51. X-Files S9

Not a fan of how they spun Mulder's absence.
There was a few episodes where it was used well though.
Liked most of Reyes and Doggett's stuff.
Scully regulated to autopsies a lot.
Also not a fan of how William was handled.

50. X-Files S8
Mulder is not in this season very much, but I still like it a lot.
Robert Patrick as John Doggett is a great new sceptic character while Scully reluctantly has to take on Mulder's role.
Last episode was very good and wouldn't have been a bad place to end the show on

49. X-Files S6+7

What I think is considered the end of the classic X-Files run.
Episode quality stays high, but continuity still not very good.
At least there's some more (very inconclusive) Mulder/Scully romance now.
I notice that Scully is noticeably happier when written by DD or GA...

48. Blade Runner 2049

I really like the trope of human-created robots trying to become human.
K is often not very expressive which I relate to a lot.
Joi plot line was equally haunting and tragic.
Loved the turn-around on K's assumption in the end:
"We all want it to be us" 👌

I'm impressed how constant the tension in this movie was.
A lot of amazing actors!
Really enjoyed the overall message and the twist at the end.

46. At the Mountains of Madness

Read a story inspired by this a few years ago!
It was really cool, written like a report from one of the researchers that returned from the first expedition alive

45. The Blighted Stars

Really, really enjoyed this book.
The dynamic between the main characters was very nice and developed in interesting ways.
Love the setup for the next books!

44. Claire Obscure: Expedition 33

What a fucking game!
I've rarely been so glued to the screen. Absolutely addictive combat system with incredible variation.
A gripping story with great themes.
Very relatable characters imo.
A BANGER soundtrack.
All made by so few people.
GOTY for sure :]

43. Warbreaker

I really loved the colour-based magic system!
Very intriguing characters too. My favourites were Vivenna, Denth and Vasher.
The reveals about the world were chilling, but the book ended very abruptly.
Maybe a sequel will come at some point...

Liked it, but after the ending, I thought this also could have happened after the 2nd book.

41. Rogue One

Andor beautifully transitions into R1 and gives the movie even more substance and context to draw on for it's great story.
I didn't appreciate it properly in 2015.
Now I realise it's to be watched with a more serious lens than other Star Wars and then, it shines even more

Bix's ending just upset me. I grew to like her departure from Yavin, assuming she stayed in the fight. Her ending with a consolation baby is not only bad taste in a cliché and even kinda sexist way, but it's the second time this exact ending happened to a favourite character of mine and I hate it.
May 24, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Unfortunately, there are 2 things that bothered me a lot and that's the treatment of Cinta and Bix. Cinta's death was such a bad surprise, apparently just to give Vel's actor more material. She had all her development off-screen and I wanted to see more of them together.

"I have friends everywhere" is the motto of this season and it shines with Cassian and Kleya's arcs in the last episodes.
May 24, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Cassian is at the centre of these characters and combines their themes. He struggles with Luthen's ruthlessness, but still understands it. He shines the most when he connects with people on a personal level like his conversation with the bellhop on Ghorman or when getting Mon Mothma to trust him.
