I suppose it taught a generation of children to pilot an SR-71...

Right??? And what's doubly weird is that I saw it in school, too. In fact, I think the *only* place I saw it was in elementary school.

Maybe Paramount had some extra VHS copies and donated them to schools as a write-off?

Oh, man! I was just thinking about D.A.R.Y.L. What a premise for movie!

I'm old enough to remember when the Roberts narrative was how focused he was on preserving the legitimacy of SCOTUS.

IMO Andrew Yang’s Forward Party had some good messaging in “not left, not right, forward.” It rejects political binaries altogether and suggests that it offers fresh ideas.

To be clear, I’m not advocating for Yang or FWD, but I do think there are some lessons to be learned from the messaging.

I suspect that very few Americans have actually seen one of… whatever this is… let alone eaten one.

I’m not saying that American cuisine *doesn’t* have its share of crimes (breakfast cereal with a fudge center, frex) but this seems pretty niche.

I don’t know how you’d eat that at a stadium, but heavens help me I’m ready to try.

No one wants your “gift”. Seriously, GFY.

JFC GFY. You know what you did, you know why it was wrong, and you know that WE know. Cut the crap.

Another maga lamb to the slaughter…
July 5, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Exactly. This is why we need to eliminate billionaires. They wield so much power that they’re inherently anti-democratic.

Depends entirely on what you’ll be doing Tuesday afternoon/evening. If you can sleep immediately after you arrive, I’d say go for it.

Have you told your editors that you wrote those posts on background from Richard Spencer? That should get you the green light.
July 4, 2025 at 9:06 PM
I think it’s okay for people, even talk show hosts, to have the occasional freakout.
July 4, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Not to be overly crass, but I don’t think the question is what’s cheapest. The question is what’ll get Stephen Miller hard.

I’m not even joking. But god, I wish I were.

Oh, I suspect that MAGA is surprisingly hep to this particular literary reference…
July 4, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Exactly. Any conservative who needs courting to break from maga will never break from maga.

Honestly, kinda sounds like a new burger at Wendy’s.

Reminder: blue people live in red states.

E.g., Wyoming. Trump got 71.60% of the popular vote in Wyoming... and 1 in 4 people voted for Kamala!

“Blue” and “red” states are a fiction. States aren’t teams, and acting like they are makes life harder for people who already are marginalized.
For those that think the red states are getting what they deserve, we will all feel the consequences of these cancelled NIH grants. These researchers and institutions deserve better, regardless of red or blue state.
July 3, 2025 at 7:29 PM
(Also: no shade intended towards the person I’m quoting, in case that’s not clear. This is a reminder for the folks who revel in harm being visited upon “red states”. The people who are most likely to suffer are the ones who voted *against* this crap! Don’t kick ‘em while they’re down.)
