The groyper movement is a pretty perfect symbiote for the tech oligarchy. They don't believe in improving anything in any way. Their only politics are bouncing up and down and babbling about vibes and aura. They're the ideal peasant class to thrive under techno feudalism. Let them eat sports betting

It should be illegal for power companies to increase my bill because of AI data centers. Make them pay double, triple, whatever but don't touch my electricity bill. I'm just using the same amount of power this year that I've used every year for a decade.

One Punch Man used to be a parody of the genre, now it's just leaning into all the tropes unironically complete with the long boring monologues and screaming to get stronger all played totally straight

Bought this book used, looks like it was signed "To June" by author. Cheers June!

My car insurance is up to $800 from $600 for literally no reason.

These books continue to be really great, can't remember a single series I've enjoyed reading more

In retrospect it may not have been the best idea ever to let the most evil people who have ever lived monopolize all of the money and power on earth. fortune.com/2025/09/28/l...
Larry Ellison once predicted 'citizens will be on their best behavior' amid constant recording. Now his company will pay a key role in social media | Fortune
“Citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on,” Ellison said last year.

I think it's time for democrats to start being way more vindictive. The Trump administration is specifically cutting funding to Blue states so now blue states are forced to cut services across the board. Fine. They should target the counties that voted red and slash their services alone.

Really great novel, maybe the best Roma Sub Rosa so far despite departing from the usual single mystery formula. One of the best books I've ever read to show regular people getting pushed and pulled by the eddies great historical events.

I honestly feel embarrassed for working so hard to earn my degree from OU when I could've just scribbled "I Love Jesus" in crayon on every test and assignment and gotten full marks.

Why is my new cat heating pad covered in little swastikas?

Pretty great book, like a combination of shutter island and welcome to night vale. Could maybe benefit from a pro editor, but there's also something authentic and raw about the writing that works well with the story

Unfortunately, essentially nothing about this book works at all. The inconsistent characters with their vague motivations are unlikable. Combat is a huge weakness for this author. The vacuous world building really stands out when traveling. I just wanted to stop reading this more with each chapter.

Love when a book introduces a painfully unfunny bit, then instead of moving on repeats it again and again ad nauseum for the entire run of the novel. That describes 100% of the humor and a good chunk of all of the content in this book.

Such a great book, clearly the Douglas Adams of our generation

One thing I've been waiting for since the first chapter of GoT was a POV chapter from an Other. They have language and government, I keep expecting them to be humanized. I always thought they were a play on the psychological other, but that can't be the case if they're just monsters to be slain

Phase 1: Quietly incorporate fascists into your political party

Phase 2: Koombaya fascists are people too, free speech is when fascists experience no negative consequences for anything they say or do

Phase 3: We are all fascists. Non-fascists are un-American, seditious, and will be exterminated

These books are long af, I forgot how long they take to read. Might take a break from this series in favor of some shorter books

It's very funny how republicans are accusing Obama of getting kickbacks from Medicare without evidence while Trump is launching Trump RX to give himself kickbacks from Medicare. Every accusation is a confession. Every single one.

I've been using this jug to hold my apple cider every fall since I got it at a Renaissance Faire back in like 2017. Looks like the sticker has just about had it. RIP Wizard's Brew Sticker 2017-25
