Spending my evening helping our kid register for a college class and pick where he is applying.

Also examining my head for new gray hairs.

Queer temporality is so strange sometimes.

But regardless, we are so unbelievably proud!

This is what churches should all be doing. Locked doors in a warm church on a cold night is a sin.

Very proud to see Rev. Breault, who helped the formation of multiple generations of leaders in my church (me included), showing his love of God and neighbor here.

My evening involved a lengthy discourse about cataphatic and apophatic theologies as it relates to exploration of trans identity.

Theology is such a fun discipline and such an interesting way to meet people in critical moments in their lives. #chaplain #religion #theology

Did George Washington really say “so help me God?” in his presidential oath? There is no evidence that he did.

The phrase isn't in the #Constitution—its origins trace back to 19th-century Christian nationalism. https://buff.ly/4j80UXW (David B. Parker @kennesawstate.bsky.social) #polisky #religion
How Christian nationalism played a role in incorporating the phrase ‘so help me God’ in the presidential oath of office
The phrase ‘so help me God’ is believed to be a part of the presidential oath ever since George Washington is said to have used it 236 years ago. Except, says a historian - there is no evidence of it.

I have mixed feelings about President Biden, but I've adored many of his appointments, Levine chief among them. Our country is better for her service. I hope this isn't the last we see of her.

On social media, American women have been committing themselves to some version of South Korea’s 4B movement: no marriage, no kids, no sex, no dating. E. Tammy Kim writes about the deepening social impulse toward gender separation.

The dog park has provided a way for the church to connect with neighbors, said Dan Walbert. “Some of them had lived 50 to 80 feet from this church for 20 years, and didn’t know anything about what it was or what we believe."
Got an empty church lawn? Why not turn it into a dog park?
(RNS) — For some churches, starting a dog park turns underused church property into a place for community.

This should be the position of every leftist: abolish poverty, not prostitution.

If you try to ban the sale of sex, you're just taking away income from desperate people as well as taking options from those who do sex work out of preference rather than necessity.
