That said it's not just useful for calling out "nonsense". Some games become massively improved after launch (Street Fighter V comes to mind) and it can make a first appraisal seem disingenuous. So, y'know. (2/2)

I think a longer history of tortured releases has adjusted our worldview of what constitutes a long development cycle. We were around for The Last Guardian, and "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" :D

The early demos were closer to the “arcade mode”; just a straight song selection. Gotta say I wasn’t sure about the narrative bits myself; I’m hoping they don’t get in the way of the rhythm action too much.
