Here's after I got both the distortion and the dither effect working. The second image is with bloom re-enabled. At first I thought I was going to have to write my bloom effect as well, but with my own distortion I could run my effect before Unity's post process stack. #gamedev #indiedev #husk

-shader as well, as using Unity's lens distortion meant that my pixels were misaligned, even before the dither, which was problematic as I was using alpha values to determine which dither pattern to use as seen here, the transparent bands tell the shader to dither that area of the cylinder:

Quake > Quake 4 > Quake III (perplexingly) > Quake 2

Admittedly haven't played through Quake 4 in over a decade, but the body horror man-as-machine stuff was cool.

Finished a proper HUD for The Autumnal King.

I was messing with some color filters and got this cool corroded metal look. Unfortunately it left a bunch of white pixels around the edges, so I've been watching X-Files with friends while I clean it up.

And finished up the outside of the keep in the canyon.

I was struggling with the design of it for a while, because I thought it would be cool to work in some art deco influences, but everything kept coming out looking like a sky scraper or a casino lol.

Along that theme, was blocking out a level and have most of the terrain done now. The first pic is just cubes in Unity to get a feel for the layout.

It's a series of cliffs and plateaus high above the canyons below. Still more to be done, but the all of the paths are in. #TheAutumnalKing #gamedev

Sometimes I'll be roughing stuff out and get kinda down about it, like "this'll never work out what am I doing" (e.g. first pic). But then I remember stuff like the second pic that I'm happy with and it was just a bunch of cubes in unity to start out

Working on some building destruction stuff, and figured I'd see if I could get away with just using built-in collision boxes. It works okay with a few boxes (first clip), but when you make the building out of many small boxes (second clip) it hitches and stops working correctly.

Just finished out my last day at PixelTailGames. Didn't want to push any breaking changes this week, so mostly just worked on an old condo map I started years ago.

It still needs work, so who knows if it'll get shipped now that I'm gone, but I'm very pleased with how the skyline was looking
