Oh yeah where I live it’s foolhardy to not have a full tank of gas every time you leave a town … breakdowns can be deadly in the very rural places. I can’t wait for the infrastructure to arrive out here.

When I first moved to a small town I asked the guy who sold me my car who to get insurance from, and before I knew it I had a great dentist, tax accountant, and hair stylist. You gotta chat people up and find out if they know a guy.

Several years ago they were renovating their cafe so they solemnly apologized that I could not get that free tater, but they gave me a free box of potato flakes and assured me they had been processed right over yonder. (I absolutely love that museum and take people there every few years.)

Back in the 70’s, my dad told me I couldn’t watch Sesame Street or Electric Company because they were communist and promoted race mixing. (I watched when he wasn’t around, of course.) So that’s part of it too.
