Interesting take. I enjoyed it for what it was, just kinda zoned out and listened to a podcast while crystal hunting. I thought it felt more like Hyrule Field in OoT; a big, mostly empty hub with some secrets scattered around which leads to the areas where the big dungeons can be found.

As for QotW, Metroid is my favorite series, & it's hard choosing a single memory as the best. But the very end of Dread when Samus equips the final suit is a standout. I'm being deliberately vague to avoid spoilers, but you feel super powerful after hours of- not that. It's a very satisfying ending.

I heard a podcast with LeMarche and Rob Paulsen where they were saying Maurice didn't know about that episode ahead of time and started happy crying when he first read it. The producers called it a $67,000 inside joke.
