Te Wai ā-moe, the sleeping waters, is the crater lake at the summit of Mt. Ruapehu, surrounded by (much diminished) glaciers on two sides, and a ridge of rock and tephra on the other 1.9.

The Vivienne Westwood exhibition at Te Papa is amazing from the design right down to the materials. Those are some gorgeous aragonite clusters.

I'm finally reading Children of Time and enjoying it. I want to compare it to the Uplift books, but there's a much narrower focus and sense of urgency here.
