What brings a retired rural pediatrician to tears? -the memories of children seriously harmed by vaccine prevents illness (before & after vaccine introduced). Yet not a single memory of serious vaccine harm. We deserve better.
The visual positive impact of vaccines is startling. In my early career, I asked elderly friends & relatives about childhood disease. Almost everyone had lost a sibling-including my Dad’s brother - likely RSV/Whooping Cough at age 2 months. #removeRFKJr

Proud to be a Pediatrician(retired), member of AAP, & to have worked closely for/with Public Health during the COVID pandemic. People want to forget how frightening those early days were, how grateful people were for the vaccine, how devastating the illness was for many families. #StandUpforScience

The TX campers deaths and injuries are senseless and tragic…and so are the school shootings that happen regularly. We will debate if the campers deaths was preventable, but we know that school shootings are preventable with gun sense laws. #thoughtsprayers

This makes me feel hope. A strong voice for children and families is what we need now.
I take public transit multiple times a week in SF. It is not dirty or scary. It’s clean and efficient and the app works great. Do I sometimes see folks who are struggling? Yes I do. Am I in a minority racial/ethnic group on the bus or train? Usually, and that’s ok. #SFmuni

Remember those explainers of exponential growth of highly contagious COVID in unvaccinated populations? That prompted the shutdown? Measles is much more contagious.
The US has surpassed 1,000 measles cases this year. It’s only the second time the US has hit this dangerous milestone in the past 30 years and it’s only May. This is the Make America Sick Again agenda.

When Elon was a kid, survival for ALL, the most common childhood cancer, was <10%
Now it’s >90% due to funded collaboratives (high indirect costs) whose work ultimately SAVES THOUSANDS OF LIVES EVERY YEAR.
For other cancers there’s still so much progress to be made.
I think it’s worth it.

Now it’s >90% due to funded collaboratives (high indirect costs) whose work ultimately SAVES THOUSANDS OF LIVES EVERY YEAR.
For other cancers there’s still so much progress to be made.
