The flip side is that heavy screen time appears to have a causal relationship with socioemotional problems, but the arrow of causality might go either way!

I think the author gave the underlying meta-analysis short shrift. It's large, rigorous, basically endorses watching stuff with your kids, and finds no issues from moderate screen time.

In related news, Google says they've used AI to fix that pesky Voigt-Kampf test scene from Bladerunner where the camera cuts back and forth so much as the tension builds. It's a nice wide shot now from beginning to end where you can always see everything.

Love this week’s message, but what is up with the legend on this chart? Someone on your team doesn’t know how inequality symbols work.

‘Ivory tower’ academia may be seen poorly by the right but, IME, Engineering is highly respected by average people in red states. It’s seen as smart, no-nonsense study intended for real work.

So “he ran off the university’s engineering program,” would be worse than you might think.
