I just voted against extending this McDonald's drive-thru permit in Forest Hills, Queens. Encouraging car use is terrible land use in a city bc whether it's a DWI, inattention or a medical incident these 3,000lbs+ vehicles will crash into people & buildings. Thankfully not hearing of any injuries.

The Bedford protected #bikenyc lane stays for at least a bit longer! @nyc-dot.bsky.social cannot remove the lane just yet. Call your reps and demand they press the Mayor to not revert Bedford to its previous deadly design. @transalt.org

Yup, I've seen them a few times in that neighborhood. In any event the drivers don't use the designated stops, they make several stops along a single block - door-to-door service. Which is nice, but defeats DOT's planning. I don't think the City has asked them to stick to the designated spots

It would be an absolute sin if anyone is seriously hurt or killed as a result and I sincerely hope the @NYCMayor will reverse his decision and instead implement @nyc-dot.bsky.social's alternative design recommendations. This still does not need to happen & there is time to stop it.

The @NYCTBus #QueensBusRedesign begins taking effect on June 29th, with more being implemented on August 31. See below for affected routes in Central Queens & visit mta.info/queensbus to learn about new travel options throughout Queens & a new trip planner.

WHAT's CHANGING
Your bus stop may change. We're adding, relocating and removing hundreds of stops to make your ride faster, more reliable and more connected
Your route may change. We're rerouting some routes for faster and more direct service and some routes are getting new numbers.
You may see new routes in your area. We're expanding the network with new and extended routes in more areas.
New Rush routes get you to the subway faster. Newly designed routes make local shops far thom the subway, with limited stops on major streets and near hubs.
