When I first read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, I could not have imagined Percival Everett’s James. That is a failure of imagination, influenced by racism. Hat's off to Mr. Everett for telling James's story.

We watched episode 1. Enjoying the story, character development, and the acting but even in 2025 the inclusion of so much gratuitous profanity in the script is discouraging and off-putting.
