The Pin is mightier than the sword
@putdorianedown.bsky.social
Endurance racing, Formula E, feeder series. Occasionally F1. Doriane Pin fan account. Statistician by day, sometimes it shows up here too.
Macau were also quite confused by Kean Nakamura-Berta's nationality as you can see:

@stabbyabby.bsky.social's kitten is so loud it's disturbing Hazel across a continent and an ocean....

Just wanted to check that the people aren't watching Macau have seen the livery of Laurin Heinrich's car for this weekend
November 15, 2025 at 9:58 PM
OK well changes to the two-year maximum or not it seems like under no circumstances will Doriane be returning next year so now we just need Ferrari to say the same thing about Maya Weug
November 15, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Brain, under no circumstances did you have to come up with "Premulator" to describe what Doriane is driving here
November 14, 2025 at 11:11 AM
Don't you fucking dare
November 14, 2025 at 10:18 AM
Um, what? So I hope that Susie Wolff walks this one back because it seems to me like she's explicitly saying the point of F1A is to trap female drivers and prevent them progressing to higher levels of motorsport, if you want to "consistently features the very best female talent".

It's Macau week(end)! Excited to watch Formula Regional cars bring out red flags, probably on delay because you're not getting up to watch feeder series racing from China? I sure am!

I mean, it's largely grey, and also it's definitely less visually interesting than Audi's _last_ single-seater

There's obviously a thing here with Red Bull having two teams, but it's doubtful to me they'd have thrown Max at least straight into the senior squad (when Seb made his debut Red Bull was not that great a team). Other than them, there's not that many drivers who won a title with their first team:

Ok I will actually stop now.

Under the circumstances....

Other inevitabilities
November 9, 2025 at 12:02 PM
Getting this one in now because I'm not sure if I'll be back home for the Grand Prix or not.
November 9, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Ryo Hirakawa being told "you can open Tango if you want" and Anthony Davidson explaining this is the traction control but you know what everyone was thinking. Good that Toyota make the in-car drink more interesting.

Ah yes WEC, a BATTRLAECFEOR 3rd.

If you're very old you're thinking "wow that would be a bad modem"
November 8, 2025 at 3:17 PM
As mentioned by Graham Goodwin on commentary. I've never seen it either.
November 8, 2025 at 12:53 PM
Congratulations to Jean-Eric Vergne and his son on their qualifying performances in Bahrain....
November 7, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Important bit of the Race Director's notes from Interlagos: you can cross the line on pit entry up to the point marked, no further.
November 7, 2025 at 3:08 PM
In the colder evening session on the other hand...well, I think this has a lot to do with stint length, particularly the high-temperature end (did you do a short run at the start?) but nontheless Toyota, Ferrari, Aston, Alpine and Porsche look rather better than BMW, Cadillac and Peugeot.
November 7, 2025 at 1:16 AM
Quick look at track temp. In session 1 it was Aston Martin and Toyota who looked best at the start in the cooler temperatures, but everyone was much of a muchness as the track got hotter as things went on.
November 7, 2025 at 1:16 AM
If you just look at average laptimes for stints longer than five laps you may end up being mislead by Toyota doing a few long stints whereas other teams seem to have done several midlength stints
November 7, 2025 at 12:33 AM
Looking at long run performance suggests Peugeot might have an advantage over Toyota on tyre preservation (though not by a lot), but the Cologne squad have more outright pace (as do several others, though if they push that much in the race looks like they kill the tyres, which Toyota don't).

Unusually the Japanese marque are actually decently fast through the trap as well, though not as quick as the Peugeots. Something to be said for not being top weight for once, I imagine.
