The most amazing lasagna ever came from a restaurant in Walla Walla where the sauce was made by the owners’ grandma every day at 4 am. It’s been gone for many years, but to this day if you say the words “Pastime lasagna” to anyone old enough to have tasted it, they will start crying.

The old lady who lived next door to us when I was a little kid was a bigtime Harlequin fan. Used bookstores didn’t take those, so she’d leave big boxes of them out next to her garbage can and I’d swipe them, read them, and put them back. I learned a LOT of words from those books.

Love that movie! Rick hadn’t seen it either, and it was even more fun watching him watch it for the first time.

Norwegian is full of those. “Chimpanzee” is literally “ape cat,” “bat” is “flutter mouse,” and “turtle” is “shield toad.”
