This is the single most important advice any creative person needs to hear.
There are of course factors such as financial insecurity or mental and physical impediments (spoons ≠ motivation even though people will tell you they are the same) but when you can, do, whether you feel inspired or not.

if there's anything I've learned in 2024 it's this: leave comments on fanfic you like. I can't count the number of times someone told me I made their week by telling them I liked what they wrote. It feels good!
