Interested in climate change, sustainable economics, equality and fair societies. Passionate about music and family. I remain stubbornly enthusiastic about all life has to offer.
Absolutely bloody epic. I adore this band.

I was so distracted during my run today. Absolute scenes.

This is so beautiful. And my cat appears to have sneaked into the painting.

Slow clap to Labour.

The stories of those poor people, including children, dying in the channel and the Russian attack on Poland are two parts of the larger story. Putin has stoked up hate for immigrants - his ambassador said Britain wouldn't recover from Brexit for years.

Whenever I see articles like this I hope that a) any MPs who have deliberately been dodgy with their tax are absolutely squirming and b) Labour have dedicated some research to finding the Tories/Reform (or to be fair, any MPs) who definitely do this so that we can expel them from parliament.

I've just finished The Care Economy by Tim Jackson and here's my review.

TLDR: I loved this book. Read it for a vision of the future that is full of hope.

We're playing at the Guildford City Social Club (73 Joseph's Rd, GU1 1DN) Sunday @ 4pm. Drinks are unfeasibly cheap, there's a BBQ and hopefully the music will be great. 🤞 Classics from Beatles to Chappell Roan via Roxy Music, Depeche Mode and Patsy Cline - well known, eclectic and acoustic.

This is excellent news. From last week's 'State Of Britain Newsletter' by the @financialtimes.com

From @iandunt.bsky.social's review of Labour's first year in government. There's loads of spot on analysis. This stood out to me - as a former constituent of Jeremy Hunt, I have followed his maneuverings more closely than most and honestly the guy's a menace.

From @jeevunsandher.bsky.social's latest blog. Quite sobering numbers here.

If there's anyone on here considering trying Riverford Organics, but hasn't gotten around to it yet, I'd like to provide one of many reasons to give it a go in the form of this email informing its customers that the price of 15 fruit and veg will be *decreasing*. Nice.

This has just arrived and as a teenager I never in a million years would have thought I'd be so excited to receive a book about economics, but somehow Tim Jackson's books are not only utterly compelling, but beautiful and moving too. His previous book, Post Growth, has so far inspired 3 new songs.

Excellent Inside Politics newsletter from FT's @stephenkb.bsky.social this morning.

Perhaps I'm being naïve, but instead of worrying what other parties might do in 5 years' time, maybe Labour should just aim to serve the citizens of the UK as best they can whilst they have power to do so.

I'm blocking these socks I've made for my Nan. They were for her birthday in February but I didn't finish them in time! 🫣 I'm going to give them to her tomorrow - I'm excited!

As far as I'm concerned, Richard Chamberlain is the Prince Charming.

That's how it is. That's how it was. That's how it always will be.

I wonder if We Fail was commissioned? Seeing as they currently strike me as the most accurate portraits available.

From @stephenkb.bsky.social's excellent 'Inside Politics' newsletter. I invite you to consider who on earth the 9% of Green Party voters *opposed* to the government's target to reach net zero by 2050 are?!!!* Do you think they got lost in the polling booth?

Even if you are one of the lucky people in the country who are able to afford your mortgage/rent, bills and decent food with the time to cook it, your lifestyle would improve if we lifted people out of poverty.
