The month is over, so I can finally say it - I wrote EVERY DAY in November and churned out just over 40k of my new longfic!!! Hadn't written since August, because work+grad school+family=no free time, but I'm back!!! Looking at Jan 1 to start posting - it's the 5 year anniversary of my first fic 😊

Sometimes I wish I was more of a "dump everything on the page" kind of writer when I have a new idea, because outlining is not nearly as satisfying as writing actual scenes. HOWEVER - I am SO EXCITED about the current wip - 14ish chapters planned out, first chapter in progress 😁

The issue with writing time travel fanfics, I am coming to learn, is that unless the MC is travelling both to and from something close to canon, you essentially need to write two fics. Or at least heavily outline the part that's not in the main fic itself. Oh well, the more (words) the merrier 😁

It wasn't the best idea to try to force myself to start writing again with an accountability post right before 2 weeks of travel. HOWEVER! Home now with an idea for a time travel/mystery fic and am actually, genuinely excited about writing for the first time in a while. It's a great feeling 🥰

Writing is fine. It's literally the most embarrassing thing on earth to put yourself on full display for rejection or validation, but it's fine. I enjoy it. I find it therapeutic to set myself on fire.

Considering it took literal months to get 50 kudos when I started, and only had ~250 six months after I finished, this is insane to me. I need to write another side story to celebrate if it hits 1000. Just need to figure out which universe to put it it 😁 So grateful to those who recced it ❤️

I'm taking a grad class for the 1st time in 18 years. I have a paper due today. I have not started the paper yet. It is due in 11.5 hours. I will likely avoid it for at least another 2 hours. Maybe more! Some things never change. I don't know if this is depressing or reassuring.
