I know, it’s a no win situation. We can’t let families starve…but we may be taking their health insurance away now. I am on state assistance for my healthcare and will more than likely lose it too. My only hope right now is we still have the midterms, but that notion is disappearing quickly too

I’ve been on SNAP. It’s hard to stretch as a single person, I can’t imagine trying to make it last with a family to support.

This is where I’m at. We either continue to starve families and children, or we put it squarely on the R’s when they do nothing to continue the subsidies. They’re expiring anyways, this way WE aren’t letting them expire, the R’s are solely responsible. Not that anyone will think that way…

I get that but if the shutdown continues they will lapse anyway. They’re making us choose between starving our kids & seniors, and losing something we’re already set to lose anyways. There’s no way we were gonna win this thing 100%. Absolutely none and they KNOW that. I’m sick but what’s the answer?

No but understand we are in a no win situation here. We’re going to lose the subsidies anyways, but at least this way people will be fed and it will all be on the R’s that let them expire, not that the Dems just “let them” expire. It totally sucks but so does our own gov’t starving Americans

But what I read this morning, the subsidies are set to expire Dec 31. The R’s are not budging. If we now open up the gov’t, that puts extending the subsidies squarely on the R’s instead of the Dems just letting them expire because the gov’t is shut down. The R’s are starving people to get their way.
