So far we've watched S1 and S2. S1 is pretty ok, very cute but nothing spectacular. S2 blows S1 and most other anime I've seen this year out of the water.

You wouldn't be able to cast Arcane Denial in that case. Any spell that targets must have a legal target to be cast. Dovin's Veto can't be countered, so you wouldn't be able to designate it as the target, so Arcane Denial never even leaves your hand.
