Historian, cat lover, supposed adult. I write, I knit, I watch a ton of Asian dramas. I like reaction videos because it's like watching a friend discover something I love. | Not really interested in having people follow me. | Mostly here for #HATM.
Discovered this today and immediately realized my parents were there during this. I remember my mom telling me they'd been in the first class to pay tuition after they'd changed the charter to expand admissions.
The book has a cover! Coming October 2025.

Watching K-Pop Demon Hunters with the whole family and had a #HATM codfish moment with the tiger and the bird. There's an entire sub-genre of traditional Korean paintings that is magpies teasing the crap out of derpy tigers.

There's plenty of Tejanos who will happily remind folks that there have been no immigrants in the family for the last 300-400 years. They didn't cross the border, the border crossed them.
It's no coincidence that there's a number of Californian cities with Spanish names and a load of Mexican influence.

When Trump talks about borderlines, someone remind him that the US just drew a line through Mexico and called it the United States. It doesn't mean Mexicans no longer live there. 😂

On this 80th Anniversary of VE Day, we remember all those who won the war against Nazis and remember the countless sacrifices they made to deliver it. The Greatest Generation stood up to evil to protect peace and freedom for generations. Now it’s our turn. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pNl...

Pretty sure that the only person with enough money to pay 3.5+ MILLION people enough money to get them to put that much effort into preparing for and attending a protest is one of the primary targets of those same protests.
If your response to yesterday’s millions of people marching is that they were all paid operatives…you’re desperate, deluded, and scared.

And lying.

I listened to 9hrs of this. Everything he said was relevant, substantive and to the point. The only fluff was spent complimenting coworkers for their dedication to serving the People.
Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

This sounds about right. Sadly, I spent all night writing because the words refused to leave me alone and was up for ~30hrs before I finally managed a 40min nap.
My writing process is that I don't write, then for a while I write, then frustratingly I don't write again, then I'm old.

(*crunch, cronch*) all the acorns on the sidewalk, (*snap, crack*) and the sticks by the park, (*whisper, rustle*) through the leaves where they've fallen, (*whoosh, sough*) breathe in light though it's dark
i know a lot of people are like "live for spite!!!" and i 100% support that if that's what keeps you going but if it doesn't work for you you can live for a variety of reasons, including "read book that isn't out yet", "love", "step on a crunchy leaf", "look at the river", "pat a creature" etc

I'd love to hear about your obsession. New stuff is always fascinating.
