When I said the education sector is hurting and about to be more so, including tenured faculty, in my comments yesterday… this will help you understand. Academic freedom (in so many ways) will no longer be a thing in order to comply with mandated behavior.

This needs talked about. Many of my colleagues are/have been Fulbright Scholars.
Many are stranded abroad now thanks to grant cuts. 😡

This is old-ish news (since things change on a dime lately), but no one is talking much about it…
If you’re unaware as tax pros, you may need to know for your clients and their kids sake that income dependent student loan plans have been suspended and aren’t being processed (along with others). 😣

Heading to Canada to speak to a bunch of non-accountants about how we can use media to rebrand the profession. Should be interesting to see *their* reactions.
My past history with non-CPA groups is that they think it’s great & they have no idea the profession operates as it does internally.

I’m seeing the “no tax on tips and OT” nonsense go around again and all I can think is:
Imagine the payroll nightmare and the reworking of the W-2 to show the different amounts…
Or are we just slamming more into box 12 codes?

If they can use the Kennedy name to become this ridiculous, surely I can use my Lowell name & ancestry to do something useful. After all, the foreign affairs advisor to JFK was a Lowell.

Most of our problems could be solved by properly funding public education.
