Was hoping to draw today but instead ended up waiting on the results of surgery my mom needed after falling.

She's doing good now, but FUCK I hated having to sit and wait for "imminent" news about how it's going for 12 hours, especially with no warning about it taking that long.

The COTL art I drew definitely applies, but one kind of scene I adore trying to bring out that admittedly doesn't look as good are scenes set in supremely dim/nonexistent lighting.

Punch, @Punchweasel's fox fursona, peering into a bathroom mirror with the faucet running. Their current host (They're someone who only exists when someone puts their hoodie on) has been one too long and is starting to suffer eldritch glamour failures. Star eyes and plasma orange hair are traits the entity channeling them into existence has. @Punchweasel's COTL Lamb OC Nalion taking a forlorn walk through what was once their village home, before The Old Faith found it and put all but them to the sword. It's raining, red flowers are blooming with black where a person has died. Five Night's at Freddy's, right at the second the lights go out due to a power outage but right before the door hydraulics fail. The night guard is hiding under their desk, only their left eye and arm visibly peering at the sole window and holding their mouth shut respectively. Beamz the Bat, an animatronic themed after 90s arcades, is peering in through the window as one of the sole easily-visible details in this literally dark art.

I've heard that immersion mods can get you sucked into an old game again, but this is a bit literal!

I guess I'm about to get a crash course on my new Hylotl anatomy thanks to a tentacle monster the size of a planetary core... How do you fight a planet exactly?

Punch held on as tightly as they could, gripping the edge of their desk as they felt the tentacles behind them wrapping around their ankles. A second of wild wriggling and kicking dislodged them both, only for a third tentacle to wrap around one, tugging insistently. "Come on! Let GO!" It was supposed to be a quick session: Try a few mods for Starbound, see if they work, then use them the next time a friend asked to play. What Punch didn't expect was for one of the mods to immediately generate a save that was already on the tentacle planet you had to journey to at the climax of the game's main story, nor for it to load that instead of a new game. What Punch *definitely* didn't expect to happen was a giant eye to be in the background, look at the camera, *then reach tentacles through the screen to pull them in.* Punch was too shocked to prevent themselves from being pulled halfway in, looking down to see their pants and boots replaced with an orange hakama and sandals, feeling the membrane of the screen squeezing their body and clothing into a more fitting shape for the game's setting. Namely, that of a male Hylotl judging by the three webbed toes they can feel kicking at the planet's many tentacles. Tentacles that while not exactly winning the tug of war, certainly made Punch fight with everything they had to keep it a stalemate. A state of affairs that lasted two more minutes before they felt a graspy tentacle wrap around a foot and accidentally slide down a slick sole, which was enough to make Punch slip- And now their hands barely caught the monitor. The tentacles paused for a moment. Oh. Oh no. The tentacle planet wastes no time striking, digging into their feet, legs and sides. One hand slips, then a thumb. "No, heh-w-wait! W-WAIT! N-heh-NO NOHOHOHOO NO-" were the last words they uttered before their grip finally slipped off the monitor, swallowing them into the game world with a *very* insistent planet with a new ticklish toy to play with.
